Castletown board meeting - facilitation - setting goals

The work on Castletown revitalisation has multiple parts. I started with a few illustrations, which turned into a document, and then I ran a workshop at the board meeting.

The goal was to brainstorm what we wanted to achieve and what would be the desired tools to get there using what we already have.

I used a timeline sketch to illustrate the work we have done until now. The purpose was to let not go all the work go to waste and come up with ideas built on top of this.

We are hoping to organise some public participatory activities over next year and this meeting should help us define the goals and themes we want to focus these activities to.

I designed few activities that we can do on the meeting that will help us summarize the important.

To see the discussions different topics led to was insightful for me as a consultant, and I gained a good base for my upcoming work with the town.

On the right is one of the templates I used for placing post-its. I divided people into small groups and they were writing down the qualities the town has and goals and dreams they have for it.

Then during a discussion we filled in some possible threads on their way to achieve their goals and defined some next steps.

I felt the board wanted to create some physical objects in the town in form of either furniture, play elements or art.

This was the topic of the coming installation.

I made a stop motion video from the whole workshop but will spare you and share only a few images…
